EGG DROP SOUP

We had Egg Drop Soup for lunch. It was really, really good.
 EGG DROP SOUP
12 cups of water
  6  large cubes chicken bouillon
  3 large eggs, beaten
1 packet Sazon seasoning (or 3 drops of yellow food coloring)
1/2 cup shredded carrots, chopped into shorter pieces
1/2 cup cooked chicken, boneless and minced
  1/2 cup cornstarch
  1/2 cup water
   1 package Wonton wrappers
      oil for frying

Bring water and bouillon cubes to a boil in large stockpot. Stir until bouillon dissolves. When broth begins to boil, slowly pour eggs into broth, stirring with a whisk. Remove pot from heat and add Sazon seasoning(or food color), carrots, and chicken. Bring back up to a boil. Meanwhile, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Slowly pour cornstarch mixture into boiling soup until thickened, stirring constantly with a large soup spoon. Allow to boil 1 minute. Serve hot with fried wontons.

Wontons can be fried in squares, or cut into strips before frying. Fry in hot oil until light brown and crispy.

We bought Egg Roll wrappers instead of Wonton wrappers last week.

I cut the wrappers into squares.

I fried them in Canola oil.

This is what they looked like when they were done.

Enjoy!
We buy this at Food King or HEB in the International aisle.

FIRST TOUCH

Grass can be a bother some times - like when there's mosquitos all over and you have to mow.  That's what my brother's doing today, and there are SO MANY HUGE mosquitos today, but that's not what this story is about.  This story is about Maximus's first touch of (sound effects, please - "bum bum bum!") . . . GRASS when he was younger.  My brother, Oliver, said there might be something in the grass that could hurt him, so he brought him inside, but not before Max got to feel it for himself.
What's this?

Cool!

Awesome!

DONUT DROPS

This is a recipe that my mom got from her mom (my grandmother).  It's for Donut Drops, and they're really, really good.  I made these last week, and thought I'd post about it.  Here's the recipe.

Donut Drops

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt

1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup milk
3 Tbs oil (we use Canola oil)

HEAT oil to 375 degrees F.  MIX together 1st five ingredients.  ADD next three ingredients to dry mixture.  BLEND all ingredients thoroughly.  DROP by teaspoon into hot oil.  TURN and fry until both sides are light golden brown and center is cooked.  REMOVE from oil.  DRAIN on paper towels.  SHAKE in powdered sugar or cinnamon and sugar mixtures. SERVE warm.

Shaking Mixtures:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 - 1 Tbs cinnamon
MIX together well in sandwich bag

Put 3/4 cup powdered sugar in another sandwich bag

The dough should be thick - not runny or thin.

I used a cereal spoon to plop the drops into the oil.

This is what they look like after being fried.

It's best if you shake them in the coatings when they are still hot.
Left:  Powdered sugar
Right:  Cinnamon and Sugar mixture

Yummy!  :)

This recipe should make about 3 dozen (or 36) drops.  I made mine too big, so I only got about 20 drops.

Go ahead, take a bite.  Ya know ya wanna!  ;)

BOUQUETS

The other day I was a bit bored, and so I made two bouquets with flowers from my back yard.  Here are some pictures.
This was the first one.  I made it on Monday.

This is my second one.  It's on our table now.
Please leave me a comment if you know what they are!

POTS . . . WHAT A BOTHER!

Pots,  what a bother. I hate having to clean them.  I have this cleaner called Barkeeper's Friend, and it's really helpful for cleaning pots & pans.  I hate them a lot, too. So here's some pictures of one of the pots I hate - that I had to clean until it sparkled.

That's pretty amazing, isn't it? That's what me, elbow grease, and Barkeeper's Friend can do!! And my Sister. She only did a little (but it helped), and I did the rest.

FRIENDS

FAMILY

Families are important to childrenMy family is very important to me!

My Family
Especially my baby brother,  Maximus.
That's Him!
He loves to play a lot.  He never wants to go to sleep at night either.  So he's basically a regular kid when it comes to sleeping.
